ESD: Take care when touching electrical components. Static electricty can instantly damage the circuitary and kill your monitor. It is advisable to use an earth strap.
Undo the two screws in the bottom corners on the back of the monior. Snap the case off, it usually gets caught on the power input socket so watch for this.
Take off the 8 screws holding the rear plate on
Take the plate off
Unscrew the green earth wire and carefully unplug the other cables
Take the screws holding the front cover out., turn the monitor over.
Unscrew the bolts in the four corners of the screen
Unplug the buttons from the circuit board. You should see this. The board on the far left is the inverter. You can unplug this and forget about it as you will not be using it. Watch out when it's on, there is high voltage.
These are the flat faced connector cables (FFC) which link the video driver to the LCD display. You will need to mount the circuit boards at 90 degrees to the screen taking care not to damage these leads. They both can be unclipped when you remove the LCD panel. When you refit them take care that they are striaight as you don't want to short tracks out.
These metal clips hold the front cover on and the LCD display in place. You can carefully bend them back allowing the screen to be removed. Before you do this make sure the FFC cables are unplugged. Handle the screen with great care. The edge connectors are very delicate and if you bend them too much you will loose pixel columns.

Hey guys, I have an LCD monitor from my old laptop and it has no d-sub (VGA) connector on the end, I know its d-sub because it has the 15 wires but I need to figure out what is which, I looked on the PCB, it had nothing printed on it. How to figure out what pins an LCD monitor is? Please help me positively. I will appreciate all your help and advice. Thank you so much.

| Just because it's got 15 wires doesn't mean it's d-sub. You need to look at where the wires come from. If they pretty much directly link up to the LCD panel with no substantial amount of electronics (i think it's extremely likely this is the case) then you'll need a driver board which will be prohibitively expensive. |
